Glamping in Paradise. California really continues to amaze me. I had no idea how easy it was to zip down to Mexico – and I’m so happy we made this trip happen. This was my first time to drive over the border [which shocked my friends, having grown up in Texas] and it was so easy. From the moment we landed in San Diego to stepping foot into our glamping paradise was just under 3 hours.
We spent the weekend enjoying Cuatro Cuatros, exploring Mexican wine country, surfing [the guys] and eating as many authentic Mexican meals as possible. And margaritas, of course. I am already planning our trip back …
Some Tips
To sleep
Cabana Cuatro Cuatros: these beautiful grounds are equipped with 18 tents that have both heat and AC depending on the weather. Each tent has its own HUGE patio and the bathrooms are a dream. They have a spa, horseback riding, sailboat trips, an epic restaurant, a killer view for sunset and a fire pit that is lit for you every night.
Encuentro Guadalupe: another boutique hotel in the area that I would love to stay at next time – look at those photos!
To eat & drink
Finca Altozano: a fun traditional vibe in the middle of wine country
The Restaurants at Cuatro Cuatros or Encuentro Guadalupe
Taco Surf [on the way into Ensenada – the best things you’ll ever eat]
